How do I create an end-of-day close (cash count)?
The end-of-day close, also known as a cash count, is necessary to record your daily takings and properly close the day.
Step-by-step guide to the end-of-day close
- Starting the process:
- On your POS, select "POS" on the left.
- Click "New receipt" in the top right.
- Select "Daily close".
- Resolve open bills:
- The system will now guide you through a menu. In the first step, you need to decide how to handle any still-open bills (e.g. cancel them or carry them over to the next day). Select the appropriate option.
- Select the report type:
- Choose whether you want to create an interim report (to check the current status without closing the day) or a final close (which ends the business day).
- Count and enter cash:
- Count the cash actually available in the cash drawer.
- Enter the counted amount in the system.
- Check: The system immediately shows whether your cash balance is correct (expected vs. actual comparison) and whether there is a difference.
- Print the receipt and complete the close:
- In the final step, you can print the end-of-day close receipt. This receipt documents all sales and the cash count.
- Confirm the close to formally end the day.
