Manage products in merchandise management

Not yet possible in the POS, right? So far, only in the Console

How do I create, edit and delete categories and assign products to them?

Categories are a very useful tool for finding your products more quickly and in a more organised way during the ordering process on the POS.

Complete all steps in the Kassenheld Console.

Access path: Products → Categories (below Inventory).

1. 🆕 Creating a new category

• Open the Kassenheld Console.
• In the menu on the left, go to the "Products" tab.
• In the "Categories" section (on the left below "Inventory"), scroll all the way down and click "New Category".
• A categorisation menu opens on the right:
  • Name the category (e.g. "Drinks").
  • Parent category/subcategory: Decide whether it should be a main category (e.g. "Drinks") or whether you would like to assign it under an existing main category (e.g. "Beer" under "Drinks").
• Then click the "Save" button at the bottom.

2. 📝 Editing or deleting a category

The process for editing and deleting is identical and very simple:

1. In the "Categories" section, select the relevant category that you want to edit or delete.
2. Click the three dots (...) next to the category name.
3. From the menu, select "Edit" or "Delete".
4. To edit: Make the required changes in the menu on the right and click "Save".
5. To delete: Confirm the deletion.

3. 🔗 Assigning products to and removing products from a category

Products can be assigned to the categories you have created simply by dragging and dropping them:

Assigning a product (adding)

1. In the "Products" tab, go to "All Categories".
2. Select the desired product from the complete list.
3. Hold down the mouse button and simply drag the product into the desired category folder on the left.
4. Release the mouse button. The product is now assigned to the category.

Removing a product from a category (deleting)

If you want to remove a product from a category (without deleting it completely from the system), there are two ways to do this:

Option A: Via the editing menu

1. Select the category and then click the product that you want to remove.
2. In the menu that opens on the right, you will find the "Delete" button at the bottom.

Option B: Via the three dots

1. Click the three dots (...) next to the product in the category.
2. Select the "Delete" button there.
